Mileage Dash Light in and out . . .

The green backlight on my 05 Sporttrac dashboard that shows my mileage is usually out. Every now and then it'll come back on and I see the mileage, but 9 times outta 10 I can't see my mileage . . . and I just noticed my dash outlet that charges my phone (cigarette lighter) no longer has power. Related or coincidence? Has anyone experienced these problems? Perhaps it's a fuse issue?

the dash outlet may have blowen a fuse , but remember some power cords the male end that plugs in to your outlet also may have a fuse in it that has blowen , as for the readout for your mileage coming on and off sounds like a short in the wireing going to it any ways thats give you start on ideals of what might be going on good luck Al
