Regarding the Virus and other nonsense. Download Malwarebytes, install, update and run a deep scan. After that do the same with super antispyware, both are free.

Bill,

If you are infected you do not need to purchase a new computer. At the worst case you need to format and reinstall Windows because the virus/spyware will not damage your hardware. The monitor dieing is just a coincidence and if it has been flickering for a while that means the backlight finally died (if it is an LCD). Try malwarebytes and take it from there.

Thx to all, and to FER for the offer of a Monitor, all is back up and running, replaced the TVS? cable, all is back up and working.

Will try to reformat, I know squat about these machines, do not know that I want to learn about them.

I can kill gut and process a deer, and any other game, i can fix and repair carbed cars.

I make, bottle and cap homemade beer, saugese,salami,chorizo,Run a sauges stuffer, make my own jerky.

But am at a loss with puters

Nice to see it's working. I am mecahnically illiterate, I can do some basic stuff on the truck, but that is it.
