larger tires on '04 track: speedomtr correction

Time for new tires this fall. Back when I had the ranger, I just changed from one color speedo gear to another (color denoted different number of teeth). If I go with larger tires, is it as simple as that, or do I absolutely have to do the calibration change in the computer using some type of flash thing like people sell on here? Thanks!

Nowdays you have to flash the computer to the revolutions per mile of the tire.

You can also buy a black box that you cut in and splice into the VSS wire and adjust it that way......

How much larger? I just allow that I'm going 5mph faster than the speedo says. This is backed up by a radar sign set up prior to a toll booth I go through a lot. Also I lease, so 10% fewer miles is okay with me.

I went larger and when it showed 65 on my speedometer I was actually going close to 75.
