The best thing to happen to the 4.0L SOHC was the 2005 Mustang using the engine. I found a new performance product.

Up to 65%, 2 Second Gain!

The design of the new Intercooled ProCharger systems for 2005 4.0 Mustangs substantially raises the bar for V6 performance, and allows V6 owners to completely overpower naturally aspirated V8 GT Mustangs. With 7-9 psi of intercooled boost and running pump gas with an otherwise stock 4.0 engine, this technology produces a 50-65% horsepower gain. Track testing has shown that a 2 second improvement in ET and nearly 400 HP is possible with the Stage II system.

With the industry's coolest charge air temperatures and largest power gains, this is the most powerful supercharger system for the V6 Mustang. ATI's patented self-contained supercharger oiling and high performance air-to-air intercooler system deliver unmatched power, with maximum reliability and relatively simple installation. Both the HO Intercooled and Stage II Intercooled ProCharger systems are 100% complete, with OEM quality hardware and an industry exclusive 3-year supercharger warranty available. A Tuner Kit without fuel injectors and the programmer is also available.:D

Sweet, I didn't know that they used the 4.0 in the new v6 Stang. What are the major differences between our engine and the Mustangs?

The new 05 uses the 4.0L same as the st... Looks like the Oil fill and upper intake are a little different...

EDIT: Link ????

DID you email them as to fitment testing on a st????

On the new X the air box is still on the passenger side and it should still be the same for the new trac. Hence, the battery will have to be relocated for the above s/c. Not necessarily a bad thing but more work nonetheless.

Also noticed on the new X that the MAF is integrated into the air box (just like the 05 ranger).

Seeing some of the new changes to the X/Trac I'm wondering if ford isn't trying to get/keep buyers away from modding their vehicles.

Paul, in reality, that wouldn't be a bad thing, a little extra weight over the axles would help out with traction.

The problem with a Centrifugal Supercharger is boost is RPM dependant. Boost/power doesnt come in until 3000-3500RPM depending what pulley you have, this isnt what we need with a heavy truck. How many times do you actually operate 6000RPM range where power will peak ? On our trucks a roots/twin screw is the best, boost and power are all low end. Alot of Ford Lightning and even 03 Cobra guys switched to Centrifugal superchargers when they were released and actually got slower because power was only up top and not there in the beginning to get vehicles going.
