quick question. I own an 09 gen2 4.6L. Do the K&N intake systems manufactured for the Explorer also fit the Sport Trac? I imagine the engine's are identical, just want to be sure. Thanks.

They do. They make a 57 , 63 and 77 series that directly fit our vehicles.

I went with the 57 series, plastic tubing doesn't transmit as much noise as the aluminum one. Plus there is less heat exchange to the intake charge. Its a straight remove and replace deal. The stock airbox is a bit of a bitch to get out. But it goes quite easily from there.
WARNING: Make sure any wiring harnesses in the area are covered in more tape and moved away from the air filter. I didn't do this and it caused my A/C compressor to cycle on intermitently. Shorted out 4 wires in the harness! Be careful and good luck, Bob

that happened to me too, and it fried my AWD module
