I'd like to rig something to carry my bike in the bed.. I've seen other trucks with just a simple locking pin for the front forks.. Any ideas where to get something like this? I've tried ebay to no prevail.. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do ya'll think I could mount this to a 2x4 or something in the front of the bed?

Use a 2x6 or 2x8" cut to the width of the bed. You can stagger the skewer blocks to fit several bikes, or mount them at angles, so the bars don't hit. (Stagger; bars? Hmm ...)

You can run a single tie-down from one side to the other looping it through and around each rear wheel to keep them from sliding.

I had one on a 2x4 in the bed, it sucked. I would put it on a bar and attach it to the tie downs. Or get a cargo bar and put it on that.

I got my fork mount from the local bike shop for dirt cheap. Like $5 each.

I've had some different styles and I really like the one I have now. Holds a max of 4 bikes, and folds down even when loaded so you can open the tailgate, and doesn't stick out 8 feet past the bumper like my old one did:lol:

It folds down small and stores easy compared to my old one that took up a huge amount of floor space. Plus it was cheaper!

I know it's not what griff wants but I thought someone else might be interested.
