Ignition switch and dome light

I have an issue with a faulty ignition switch on a 2007 ST. Dome light comes on and is cancelled by wiggling the key. My question is it the lock set or the ignition switch? Anyone have instructions to replace? This is my second ST. First was a 2005, which died along with a big buck. New ride Is a 2007 Limited V8 4x4.

IMO, the switch assy. Sounds as if it is a contact issue. The lock set is just that. GL..

That stinks, if you have to replace that you May have to change the keys too.... there is a switch inside the key tumbler that goes bad... if its that, then you need new keys and have to program them to the truck..... BUT since it will not be the same key programing may be a dealer item or a really good locksmith only.

I had to do this a few years a go. I had the dealer do it.
They did not have to change my key.
There are a few threads on this and it looks easy to do your self.

I’m having the exact problem described in the original post with my 2007 ST limited. @Cappy, can you shed some light on exactly what you did or where you found your answer? Looks like I need to do the exact same thing. Thanks
