Help-what is leaking?

Found a leak this morning. It is in the front and appears to be part of the 4WD on my 2004 XLT ST.



Is it a do-it-yourself project for one with limited mechanical skills?



If not what should it cost to have dealer fix it?

I have the same problem on both sides. It's the axle seals, fairly easy to do but if you take it to a shop they'll get you for time/labor. Look in the projects section under chad's axle project.

Thanks. Looked at the axel project. Am considering doing it myself.

JUST get a good seal installer tool..... they are not that hard to do......



I did mine when I rebuilt the front axle for the 4:56 gears.....
