headlight switch?

Hi i was driving my truck last night and noticed that my headlight/ interior dimmer switch wasnt lit up? is it suppoesed to be? and if so s it hard to replace it?

mine went about 3 months ago on my 07

The bulb itself is a dealer only item. It's not terribly hard to get to, but you need to remove the radio, radio trim and cluster trim to get to the switch. You can also see my project in the "Projects" section about how to convert it to an LED bulb so you'll never have to change it again.

This is a classic poor design by Ford. I believe the bulb is integral to the switch. There are projects describing replacing the bulb with an LED to permanently fix the design flaw.

On the second gen trucks, that switch is the ONLY switch/control in the truck that isn't already an LED.
