i was just reading that the combo of hawk pads & power slot rotors are very good.

also mentioned was that there was almost no brake dust.

anyone have these ?

thnx

What a coincidence. Bought my '05 XLS with 46K. I'm approaching 50K and was told my front pads are less than 5%. I think it's beyond preventitive maintenance at this point.

Anxious to hear the feedback. Thanks Gary !

The hawk pads lasted 3 weeks on my 03..... The rotors were great.....

I went with Wagner LT pads....

i should have added......

type of vehicle application.

the review i read was from jr. damoto (not sure of name spelling) that it was a good combo.

he used a silverado for testing.

Yeah, the hawks i used stunk, they were the problem with my 03 not stopping.....

The 04 got OEM rotors and Wagner LT pads and stops great, i could not ask for any better..

I have Hawk HP Plus on my Escort GT. Best braking I have ever seen or felt! For street only aplication, I would not use them. WAY too agressive!!!

Which Hawk pads would you be using? Hawk's R&D Facility and HQ is right up the road from me.

Many of you tend to favor OEM Motorcraft Parts. Any opinions on their pads and rotors?

Also benefits of different types. I.E.- Ceramic, metallic, etc. Thanks guys.

I only tend to favor Motorcraft plugs and thermostats. Nothing else. I compare prices of hoses. Everything else is better non-Motorcraft.

I think the majority here is the same way.

Powerslot rotors are great but I also installed the Hawk pads on my trac and they were terrible. I tried their HPS pads. I am currently using Akebono Pro-Act ceramic with cryo treated powerslots and the combo is excellent.

I have Hawk Ceramics on another car, they bite as well as OEM and produce very little dust. I don't know if they're available for Sport Tracs. Slotted rotors are good but stay away from drilled rotors.

I've got Brake Performance rotors and thier ceramic pads. A little/some dusting of wheels, stopping power is maybe 20-25% better than stock.

thanks everyone.

i need brakes for my vette. 21 years old and they are original. rotors are glazed over and braking is like stopping a freight train

001trac,

you mention your ss, what type of vehicle?
