First, I want to thank everyone for your suggestions, and advise.
It was the dreaded Security Passlock system.
went to Grand Am forum and learned about it.
Security light flashing, just crank motor over, leave in on position for at least 10 minutes and return key to off. Then start vehicle. And yes it worked.
