Would the newer Gen2 bushings work? Anyone try?

Before, the majority of our body mounts were natural rubber or urethane, says David McCreadie, Sport Trac vehicle NVH supervisor. Where appropriate, weve used new mounts made of butyl rubber to help dampen impacts, rather than bounce on impact.

I know i am newer here and probably will get burned for arguing but isn't the gen2 ST a "uni-body" similar to the 3rd and 4th gen explorers? that being the case they will have significantly less body mounts.

Well, My Gen2 STA is full frame - as you can see - with welded cross beams - this means a ton of mounts for the body to sit on -

Like the first gen, eight each side, sixteen total.

OP question, do the G2 bushings work on a G1?

Gen II is not a "unibody".

In fact, Generation II has a much stronger frame than the Gen I. That was one of the improvements to make it ride better, handle better, and haul more.

2010 parts diagram they appear completely different from the Gen1. Oh well.
