Gen 2 shifter issues

Does anyone know the fix for a sticking shifter on the Gen 2's. This problem has gradually gotten worse. It actually went away for a short time & now its taking 1 or 2 mins & alot of fidgeting with it to get it to shift out of park. I did a search & warranty seemed to be only answer. Thats not an option as my aftermarket warranty has expired.

Dealer took mine apart on my '07 and cleaned it out after someone spilled a large soda down into the shifter mechanism. This was after the recall work had been done. Fixed it right up.

FORD did the recall on mine with no issues since.

I have an 08 ST that has a sticky shifter every once in a while. I took it to Ford and of course it was not sticking when they had it. But I asked them if there were and recalls or TSBs for the problem and they told me no. Is there a link to the warranty? thanks
