I wrote a week ago about the annoying noise from the front end. Just sitting still and turning the steering wheel, the noise was loud! I drove around and when ever turning I could hear the creaking.
Took it in and the mechanic says it is the bushing on the control arm that is bad. Bad news is that you can't just replace the bushing without replacing the control arm.
I Had that done and replaced the otherside as well and replaced the ball joint as well. Then had an alignment when it was all done.!
So........I had both lower-front & right upper control arms, ball joint and alignment done and it cost $1000!!
Nice thing now is that the parts have a lifetime warranty and they are greasable!! I did have just the Left upper control arm replaced last October, so that saved me some money, since they replaced that under warranty! 2001 ST with 77,800 Miles.
Drives nice and tight down the road now!
