Had so many feel good moments with "Favorite Toys", wanted you guys to share your faves.

No boundaries, I'm stuck in the Sixties/Seventies. Haven't heard anything "original" since. IMO

BTW, I love contemporary jazz, I.E.- Ritenour, Fourplay, Bob James, Krall, etc. FIVE ONLY !

My five favorite "DID's":

1. Beatles "Rubber Soul" (1965)

2. Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon" (1973)

3. Crosby, Stills & Nash (First Album) (1969)

4. America "A Horse With No Name" (First Album) (1972)

5. Santana (First Album) (1969)

I know this post could get "heated". Nothing personal, please be civil. Thanks.

1. Jimmy Buffett- "Meet me in Margaritaville"

2. Garth Brooks- "The Hits"

3. Gary Allan- "Living Hard"

4. Eminem- "The Eminem Show"

5. The Allman Brothers- "Dreams"

1. Dave Matthews / Tim Reynolds -- Live at Luther College

2. Jackopierce -- Live in the Americas

3. Great Big Sea -- Courage, Patience, and Grit

4. Metallica -- . . . And Justice for All

5. Barenaked Ladies -- Everything to Everyone

That's a tough one for an old guy like me. My favorites frequently change so I will give you what I consider the most significant albums that were unique and had the biggest impact on the history of modern music (at least to me).

1. The Beatles -Sgt. Pepper

2. Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

3. Led Zeppelin - 1st album

4. The Who - Tommy

5. Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street

As my 7-year-old daughter and all her friends would say,

"Album? What's an album? You mena those things Grandma has with pictures in them?"

1. Robert Johnson - "The Complete Recordings"

2. Johnny Cash - "Live at San Quentin"

3. Led Zeppelin - Fourth album

4. George Thorogood & The Delaware Destroyers - "Anthology"

5. Bill Cosby - "Is a Very Funny Fellow Right!"

I love listening to Robert Johnson. In my opinion, he probably had more influence on music in the 20th century than anyone else.

And I had to include a Bill Cosby album on this list. If I'm gonna be stuck on a desert island, I gotta have something to make me laugh. I still laugh my tail off when listening to him. He's a great storyteller, always funny without being crude.

LaRue- The Beatles and "Rubber Soul" were light years ahead of their time. Journey's first LP is amazing.

One of the hardest slamming rock albums EVER. Shrieve, Rolie, Schon, all former members of the original Santana band.

Not a Journey fan after Steve Perry joined them. "Bubblegum Pop", IMO.

Bill V- Big difference between "albums" and "records", or "33's". I am still playing analog vinyl.

Sounds better than ANY music format to this day. Just ignore the "Rice Crispie" effects of snap, crackle, pop. I still refer to CD's as "albums".

Very fun post. Thanks Gang !!!

Yikes.....I hope my island isn't too close to some of your islands......rowdy bunch.

I'm gonna have to just pick artists that I could listen to all day, any of their "records" will do just fine.

1. Jude Cole (personal favorite)

2. Mike & the Mechanics (Paul Carrack has one of the best voices in music)

3. Beatles

4. Bee Gees (their catalog of music is huge)

5. Sting (in all of his iterations)

After these, it's either "Mary Ann" OR "Ginger"
