Has anybody figured out what the dry start noise is? My ST some times sounds dry at start up, it doesn't do it every time just now and then?????

If your '02 trac has high milage. Some have helped the noise by using 10w-30 oil.

I normally use FRAM filters with the Synthec special from Autozone, is this common for the FRAM filters?

Fram filters are junk. Internaly the media end caps are cardboard, instead of metal.
Use motorcraft filters. They are only 50cent more at my AZ store.

i use 10w30 with a fram filter and have no problems i have tryed motorcraft and had noise at start up
