Noticed a slight whine when coasting down to a stop for the last couple of weeks. At 138000 miles, I narrowed it down to the driveshaft carrier bearing. My trusted mechanic got it up on his lift and we verified that it was indeed the drive shaft. RockAuto only had 4wd shafts, not for the 4.0/2wd STs. Fortunately, DriveShaftPro came to the rescue. $538.00 later the new drive shaft will be here end of next week hopefully. No tax, no shipping charges was even better

On the 2wd you can just replace the Carrier bearing. $60... you can also replace the rear U joint, its not super simple, but can be done.
