Driver side door lock

Need help with the rivet problem on the driver side door lock on a 01 trac. I tried to drill the old rivet out and it started spinning it the plastic spacer. I now have half the spacer melted away with no way go get the rivet out. I am going to have to get the actuator out to fix things up. How do you disconnect the actuator from the lock rod that comes down to it. It looks like there is a coupler of some kind just above the actuator. I can only get one hand to it. I am thinking this comes apart somehow.

What rivet? On the outside of the door at the rear? Your not to drill out the rivet, if I'm not mistaken. The actuator snaps into the bracket that that rivet is holding to the door I believe. If its like my '96 Bronco, its a b---h to remove.

On mine the rivet head on the outside of the door was rusted away and no longer atached to the door.
