after my last sterero thread ive decived to get the pioneer avic-d1. but comparing it with every website it says it wont fit. I hear people say the ST is a double din, so im just seeing what we have to see if the avic-d1 will fit.

I beleive you need the dash adaptor kit.

The ST has a 1-3/4 DIN factory unit. When I installed a true 2-DIN head unit I had to enlarge the hole cutout in the bezel. I did need the outer trim ring from an adapter kit as well as the side brackets. Be forewarned though that once you modify the bezel for a 2-DIN unit you cannot re-install the factory unit.

Here is a link for a kit, I've not ordered it myself but it came recommended by the other members of this forum. I've got 2 units installed, DVD and LCD, it took modding of the bezel on the back side...but just the top and bottom. I didn't have to touch the sides so my factory radio will go back in ok later on.

Link.

Good luck, they sure don't make it user-friendly...but it's not too hard.
