A couple years ago when my ST got hit hard while parked, the Dealer's body shop replaced my extender with a used one. It gets very little use, but one of the locking pins cracked and finally broke in half, coulda been cracked when they put it in.

Stupid me didn't ask to keep the old extender, who knew? Same dealer now wants $97.00 for a replacement locking pin! I called the collision shop and asked for their assistance, as they made out to the tune of $12,000 fixing it.

They never called me back.

JKH,

Not for nothing and not to add to the "spilled milk" aspect of this story, but why did you allow the dealer to use a used replacement part when fixing your vehicle?

Clearly it wasn't to save money given that it costs $12k to fix.

Thanks Edddie, I'll drop them a line.

TJR- The whole ordeal turned into a big headache. I went back and forth with them, and they exhausted my will power. My truck had about 22,000 miles on it. Everything was in great shape. When I got it back the bed/box was used also, had a gouge in it! I got no support from the insurance company. Three times I went to pick it up and refused to take delivery. The fourth time I was weak...
