My Cruise Control went out on my 2005 several months ago, I just got around to looking it up on here. To test the Master Cylinder switch, I pulled the connection and jumpered it with a paperclip.

The cruise control now works, but strangely when I apply the brakes, it turns off the cruise control. I tried it multiple times and it worked every time. Isn't that the point of the switch, how is braking still turning off Cruise control with the switch bypassed?

I believe it uses the Brake switch on the pedal and the hydraulic sensor on the Master.

Remove the jumper and try that.

After you brake, are you still allowed to hit resume and go back to the speed you were at? Or do you mean it completely shuts down? I believe they have to have the brake disengage the cruise control so if you have to stop, it doesn't rev up the engine and try to get your speed back up.
