Hey guys. Lately my compass has been acting funny. It keeps saying its "cal" calibrating. It seems to do this randomly. Its something I use but not all the time. Only when I'm in a new or infrequently driven area. Is it something that anyone has had an issue with before? Any ideas?

Try manually recalibrating it. The instructions are in the owner's manual. Gen I's come calibrated for Louisville and Gen II's come calibrated for Chicago.

+1 on manual calibration. I salvaged one from a junk yard for $5 and had to do it before it read correctly.

Thanks guys I'll give it a try and see what happens. Its intermittent and corrects its self so who knows lol:banghead:

Wonder how you would calibrate the compass if you lived on the North Pole? No matter which direction you go, it would always say "south".
