I got a code P1506. What is it and how do I fix it?

This is what it is: P1506 Idle Air Control Overspeed Error



Someone else will have to answer how to fix it. Personally I would start by cleaning the Idle Air Control motor (see project by Todd Z).

You may still have air leaks from the TB gasket...

Do you have a throttle body "spacer" on there ???

Did you try adjusting the idle screw a little on the throttle body ??

I do not have a throttle body spacer on there. I didn't buy the airaid throttle body spacer because I was told it does not work for our trucks. I have not tried adjusting the idle screw. Would a code P1506 cause my idle to be higher than normal? I plan on printing out the projects for cleaning the idle control valve and adjusting it?

The code is from something causing the idle to be high, is your TPS sensor installed correctly, is the MAF cable plugged in correctly....



Try adjusting the valve a little..
