So I have this clunking noise that has showed up recently. I usually hear it while decelerating to come up to a stop sign or coasting slowly in a parking lot. As I slow down so does the clunk. Its not very loud you have to have the windows down to hear it. I did some searching on here and read that it might be the ring and pinion backlash? All other opperations seem normal I only hear it while decelerating. What do you guys think?

Check your rear diff fluid level...

Check your FT diff fluid Level

Check your transfer case fluid and level...

Also the drive shaft yolk may need to be removed and lightly lubricated with tranny fluid...

The T-case fluid is regular dexIII it should be replaced at least every 30K miles since it is always spinning whether your in 4wd or not..
