My check light has come . I done a check and found a hose off do I take the cable of the battery for a little bit . Will the check engine light go off and then come back on in a little bit if this does not solves my problem

thanks

thomas

If you fix the problem, disconnect the battery for about 20-30 minutes it'll clear the CEL. If the problem isn't fixed the CEL can come back on. What code did you get, what hose was disconnected?

There was a long plastic tube unplugged right before the air fliter box. That probbly was not the problem, but the elbow hose is soft and I am goiing to replace it Thurs. The mechanic , did not tell me the codes just said it was running lean on both sides

Does this look familiar? The infamous PCV elbow.

Probably the most common ST trouble codes. (P0171&174)

Usually the under side is cracked or split, where you can't see. GL
