How do you clear a check engine light.

With a code reader. If you don't have one go to Autozone or Advance Auto and get them to pull the code(s), write them down and then have them clear the codes. This is usually a free service.



Or, disconnect the battery but you will lose the codes and not know why they were tripped.

I only get a check engine light when I leave the gas cap off too long when I do a fill up. Disconnect the battery.
