Cannot get factory radio out

Any idea how to get the radio out? I am using the U hooks I got from crutchfield and it will not budge. Anyone know what size bolts those are to remove the trim around the radio?



this is an 03 trac with pioneer 6 disc

To get the radio out you should have to push the u hook in all the way. Then pull apart and towards you it should come out.

The 2 screws above the ac controls are either 7mm or 1/4 inch...

you dont even need the U hook if you take out the whold trim piece by removing the screws above the AC the radio will come out with it. On either side of the radio you'll see 2 black clips, if you use a flat head screw driver to hold these down you will be able to separate the radio from the trim. I just had the same problem today and needless to say my new system sounds great

Do what James says, I just had mine out 30 minutes ago to install an inline antenna switch for my XM radio. IIRC I used a 7/32 nut driver to remove the screws on the radio bezel.
