last time i was on these forums, i had heard the lowest drop was 3 inches all around but i was wondering if anyone's done anything lower without airbags or running into problems. i was thinking about an inch higher than this:

what do you guys think? feasible? reasonable? do-able? lol:cool:

ok so, i know that one's bagged, and it's 2wd so there's no point in lifting it. thanks for the negative remarks but i like it and was hoping for some advice

the truck doesnt look bad at all... myself i would go with 22's and see how low you can get it.. the way the ST it built makes 20's look small... 22's look jus right on a trac!!! mine lowered three.. think i can get it lower wit lil work under front fenders.. i put some work stuff in the back of it the other day which slammed it and it looked awesome.. yea its gonna ride like poo but gonna look real good.. good luck

Nick.

The camber doesn't bother me on it, but the ride definately will. The way the front end suspension is with the torsion bars you can only turn it so much.. If you drop it all the way the ride is horrible, one turn back is where I had mine but it was'nt low enough.. Give up and bag it ... <img src=http://www.streetsourcemag.com/Chatroom/images/130200374738PM93330.gif> <img src=http://www.streetsourcemag.com/Chatroom/images/CUT_SMILEY.gif><img src=http://www.streetsourcemag.com/Chatroom/images/1212200282723PM62340.gif>

not sure yet on the tire size. i know the one pictured above is bagged on 20's and c-notched (loved the comments the guy got about 'compromising the truck's frame in case of an accident'). i suppose a way around it would be to drop it less on 22's? i don't exactly have 2+grand to bag it lol:p

I'm lowered on 265/35/22. Its about 1 1/2 in the front and still can go lower and 2 in the back. Tires are a factor in lowering it cause my tires are a smaller diameter then the stock tires... Plus its getting bagged this weekend on the 22's.

I would suggest not just doing a "static" drop just b/c, after you do that, couple days or weeks will go by and you will want to go much lower. So I'd agree and say, if your planning to go low, go ahead, save the money and the time. Just go ahead and bag it, or to dro it. Whichever you might like best. I say this, b/c this comes from past experience with my ranger. I spent about $1k, for parts and install for just a 3/4 drop. Then 2 years later, I spent $2500 for parts and $2k for install for a fully bad bagged ranger. I would also agree, and say if your going to go low, go big on the wheels or go home. Don't do 20s (twanties) b/c later down the road, you'll be wishing you did 22s (double duces) or bigger. I paid $2500 for 18" wheels for the ranger back in '99, now want to upgrade to 20s or maybe even 22s. So I'd say, if you want to do something, do it right the first time. Don't do things in steps. Just jump the distance. It will pay off, and you will be very happy with everything. But I understand, the pocket ain't always full to do everything, so just gotta take it as you get it.

I dropped mine 2" the most I could get out of it without the back being too low. I also have some torsion keys sitting in my garage that can give me another 2" of drop, but I really, really am kinda second guessing this mod, becaue the ride i'd say at 2" of drop is good still, and I know if I go another 2 it will ride like a go-cart...

I guess I can try and see.

You can drop the front of the truck about 2" with the torsion bars, but any lower the ride and handling will start to suffer. Beyond that, it starts getting expensive since you will need to go to dropped spindles or air-bag systems.
