Had an awful squeak in the front end, turned out to be the driver's

side ball joint and both tie-rod end boots were destroyed.

A BIG thanks to Todd Z for laying under the truck with me today for

about 2 1/2 hours changing out both ball joints and both outer tie-rods.

I rented the ball joint press from Advance Auto Parts and what a life saver!!

It made the job go much faster and very simple.

So for $60 and 2 1/2 hours of time (the tool was free rental) we got it done!!

It was a good day, Got a lot done.....

The lowers were nice to do with the press, Did not remove the axles or shocks....

Just removed the tie rods and the Upper ball joint and the spindle had enough play to make it happen....

IT felt good to do $600.00 worth of work for $60.00 plus lunch and breakfast....

SO it was $1,000.00 total !!!! LOL :lol::lol::lol::eek::eek:

Just wondering if you got Moog outers by chance? I had a hell of a time finding the moog greasables for mine a few weeks back and ended up with non-greasable Moogs from O'Reilly.... I think they were part # 3867. I really wanted the greasable ones though. Everyone had different part numbers and after RockAuto sent me the wrong ones (2 days before a wheelin' trip :( I had to go to O'reilly. I'm glad your install worked so well. I had to remove my front tires to get the outers off the stearing knuckle and spent 1.5 hours getting the jamb nut loosened off my passenger side inner tie-rod!
