Does anyone know the approximate cost to replace an alternator (labor & parts)?

I paid $225 at my local Ford dealer to get the job done,the same was $525 when I was out of town in Ky. on a golf trip. If your ever on a trip and break down,remove your plate and tell them it's lost!

Easy DIY job. Right on top of the motor....

I'm with Eddie. I think it's two bolts, and a wiring harness. And it's sitting right on top...

3 bolts 1 deep socket will work 13mm or 14mm....



Just clean the connector and re apply electrical grease...

Just a follow up from my original post: the cost of the alternator was $182 and labor $60. Total cost with tax was $255

I replaced the alternator on my '03 Adrenalin real easily. Took $143 for a new alternator from Autozone and about 15 minutes.
