2007 Sport Trac Best Windshield Replacement Choice.

Good morning:

I'm the original owner of a well cared for, loaded black '07 ST V8 LTD. 79k miles, always garaged, near perfect until recently when a rock violated my windshield. I'm committing to a replacement so the question fellas is: Is there a meaningful, material difference in getting the windshield from FORD or SAFELIGHT? Thanks for your comments.

IMO the OEM glass is superior to all the cheap brands that most install. While they all break from a major impact the OE seems to stand up better. If you just have a rock chip that’s not in an annoying spot I’d just have it repaired unless your glass is pitted all over.

Its about 100 more for OEM, its quieter, thicker and just better quality.... IF your selling or short on $ then aftermarket it is.

Thanks, Todd and others for the input. As a result, I ordered an OEM windshield thru my Ford dealer. They'll do the install, onsite, w/ a third party as they have no specialist on staff. Thanks again,
