2001 Sport Trac won't start! Help!

Hi there my name is Zack,



Got a 2001 Sport Trac that wont start, the battery is good, starter is good, fuel pump primes just fine. Checked and reset the inertia switch. Just replaced the CPS (Cam Positioning Sensor) no dice! Check Spark plugs and getting spark. What could be wrong? The engine turns for a second, the stops, and will make a humm/buzz sound for a long as I hold the key.

Sounds like a broken timing chain or you Dropped a valve......



OR you have a bad connection electrically or one of the new items failed....

That humm/buzz is the starter solenoid. Your battery is just down after sitting for a while.



Jump it or throw on the battery charger.

well, it could be a dropped valve jamming the piston. a jump or a booster would solve the 'weak battery' theory.





how do you know you have spark if it won;t turnover?
