    Bad engine best option?

I have a spare trac that is same year but 2 wheel drive and is a xlt and i used the painted bottom and leather heated seats etc, my trac i got in 04 was the base model 4x4, it is same color but in my opinion it is well worth having a spare trac, i have gave a few parts away.

    1" to 1-1/2" lift Thoughts

Sounds like you have done your homework and i have used hockey pucks a few times on jeeps and you are right they are just a body lift short of not needing to relocate anything, if a 3 inch body lift then yes but tracs do not show as much frame as other rides, going only a inch there is not a ton...

    2005 sport trac engine compatible?

Most 4.0 lowers will work, rangers ,explorers etc. as far as a complete swap then you need to have a 04 or 05 from trac for easy swap, or wiring, intake etc are different on explorers. looked into this a few years back and found out after buying a explorer, that was the same year, that it was...

    Interior trim and body trim

I have had quite a few tracs over the years and if base model black in 04 but not a glossy, so more of a dull and prior was more gray, on xlt models some were the same as color. this was my truck in 04 after purchase, i painted it silver thinking it would look better. i put paint matched silver...

Center console change, putting 2002 trac console into a 2004 trac

I added a console from a explorer right after getting my 04 as i was not a fan of the gag bag, then had one made using the factory tray by dash and pad, if i remember it was a 98, i tried a steel horse for a jeep but did not like look. the explorer looked factory and matched, just wanted room...

There is quite a few silicone based products that work for a few washes as long as you do not use degreaser soap(like dish soap) silicone base is nice so you can add water to dilute to the gloss you like, any tire shine but some make very bright and sticky like black magic tire wet. i use...

What is the deal with my rear bumper cover?

My guess it was bent from trying to tow over the limit, the bumpers are not meant for a load, where a class 2 or 3 hitch to frame can handle load on tongue, looks like a newer hitch and i have not seen a trac with a factory class 2 or 3 hitch. i added mine. do not remember any of my rangers...

New to me 2002 Sport Trac

If i found a beater slash play rig 4x4, i would cut fenders out and put some flares and bigger mudders and enjoy, they have great low pull for wheeling, armor the bottom and shocks and tires and you can wheel it for 500ish and fix it as it breaks.

    Alternate to paint.?

I did detailing, and we would do underbody treatments, we would use red hot a acid degreaser and run fans over night to get dry, then spray, the problem is as todd mentioned, where mounts etc, this is stress points that will fail from rust, unless you remove body then spray it is a bandaid, i...

DVDSWAN 02 Sport Trac Build/Maintenance thread

yes,, unless someone replaced ignition and had it chipped or replaced ignition and ecm, or tailgate handle, my issue on one of the tracs was key was worn but took awhile to get tailgate to lock. but if ignition was changed you would not be able to use it on doors, if it works on doors then try...

DVDSWAN 02 Sport Trac Build/Maintenance thread

The back tailgate does not get used as much as the ignition does so tumbler and key wear down so if you have a spare with better points on key i would try it and wiggle, this was a issue for a couple trucks i had, with no need for chip take to locksmith shop to have a key made should be cheaper...
