You think they'd research the name first.....

Subject: What's in a Name?

All of these are legitimate companies that didn't spend quite enough

time considering how their online names might appear... and be misread.

These are not made up. Check them out yourself!

1. Who Represents is where you can find the name of the agent that

represents any celebrity. Their Web site is http://www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can

exchange advice and views at http://www.expertsexchange.com

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at

http://www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at http://www.therapistfinder.com

5. There's the Italian Power Generator company,

http://www.powergenitalia.com

6. And don't forget the Mole Station Native Nursery in New South Wales ,

http://www.molestationnursery.com

7. If you're looking for IP computer software, there's always

http://www.ipanywhere.com

8. The First Cumming Methodist Church Web site is

http://www.cummingfirst.com

9. And the designers at Speed of Art await you at their wacky Web site

When I was in high school, I had a friend from another school named Micki Orgas. She was starting guard on her school's basketball team, which won the state championship that year.

When the state semi-final game was broadcast on statewide TV, starting line-ups were listed on screen as last name, first initial. So their starting guard was listed as "Orgas, M."

The next day, for the championship game, they had changed it around for all players on all teams, so that she was a much more appropriate "M. Orgas".

And when my grandpa used to work for a car dealership, the dealership owner/founder was John Bates. He was grooming his son to take over, and as in most cases of such nepotism, the son (unlike his dad) was a spoiled, cocky, clueless prick, who was also single. Needless to say, behind his back, no one in the dealership called the son by his name, David Bates. Instead, he was always, "Master Bates".

When I was in HS, I had a classmate who's name was Kimberyly Knoff. Kim's father was a frequent substitute at our HS and she made the mistake of telling us his first name is Jack.

Needless to say, the poor guy, Jack Knoff, was never taken seriously as a substitue again...

I used to work with a guy named Kevin Klitz. He said that there was a list in the family of prohibited first names for children. Harry, Sharon, etc....

And I also used to work with a Hmong guy by the name of Thieu (pronounced "two") Tran. He had a list of people who shouldn't name their kids after him, including several who were then in the NFL--Brian Cox, Jim Dix, Floyd Peters, etc...

This is a daycare near Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. How inappropriate. TJ = Tito Jackson (Michael's brother)?

My wife's maiden name was Angela Hooker. At the insurance company she used to work for, email addresses were first initial dot last name (a.hooker@...). Eventually she convinced the IT department to change it for her....

Where my wife used to work her boss's last name was Peters. When he was in high school he played basketball at a Catholic school called Holy Name. He got hurt during one game and could not play the next one. Well Holy Name won without him, and the nest morning in the paper on the front page in bold letters was "Holy Name Wins With Peters Out". I thought they were kidding with me until I saw the paper for myself.

1. I graduated HS with a girl named Dorcas Quiros. (Look it up on Classmates, Brookwood HS, Snellville, GA, 1994)

2. The CFO for my dad's old company is named Peter Bone. (I used to carry one of his cards 'cause nobody believed me.

And finally, this gem, on Buford Highway in Doraville:

I am sitting on a plane reading these. I laughed out loud on a few occasions. Oh well, guess I will just let them look at me funny..

Thanks for the laughs...
