Would these fit?

I have a friend whose son just got a car. They dont have alot of funds so was wondering if some tires i had would fit. Mine are 205/70/R14. He needs 185/75/R14. Is this doable?? I want to just give them to him. Thanks All Marsha

take the tires to a shop they will put one on his rims and see if they fit. if you plan on having them do the work they normally do this for free. at least the guy i used did

The tires will be wider and taller.

They'll fit...the bead width of the tires is what is important, not the section width (true, the section width in combination with the sidewall aspect ratio is usually a good indicator of the bead width). In this case, the tires are close enough in size where the tires should work.

Marsha...your tires are 3/4" wider and 3/8" taller...depending on the cars fender clearance they should be ok..their speedo will read a few mph slow..
