I saw an ad for this in my most recent issue of Truck Trend. Looked pretty cool, and a good way to put some extra weight in the bed in the winter. Anybody here have any experience with ShurTrax?

Reads it supposedly lies flat so you can still use the truck for hauling.

Is there a problem with ST in the snow?

I can buy 300 lbs of tube sand for $10. Why would I spend $100 for a water bag that holds 100 lbs of water? Also, if I actually get stuck, I can cut open a bag of sand and pour it under the tires for traction.

The ST is good in snow, especially if you have 4WD. Since it is a crew cab with a very short bed, it isn't as light in the back as a normal pickup truck. It drives more like a normal rear-wheel drive car.

I always just shovelled snow into my truck bed. Always worked no problem and you can add as much weight as you want.

And it melted as the snow melted. If you need to get it out, it shovels out easily too...
