I know there have been a lot of posts about changing the transmission fluid in the Gen 2's but I was wondering if anyone has figured out if you can change the fluid/filter on your own or if you have to take it to the dealer to be flushed. My '07 v6 has almost 80,000 miles on it and I want to keep it problem free. I have heard people say they wouldn't worry with it because its suppose to be "good for life" but I think thats crap. My dealer will do it, i just dont want to pay that much money if I can do it myself. Any help, info, or tips is MUCH appreciated. Thanks guys!!!!

I did it on my 07 V8 with 67,000 miles. I changed the filter and fully flushed 11+ quarts with Amsoil synthetic. I also added a drain plug in the pan. I think it is worth it. It took me awhile and it was messy. I will be much smarter and it will be much easier the next time.

I would be happy to discuss this but I know other listers have done it too.
