time for some new rubber on the 04 ST. anyone have any ideas?? Not looking for low profile or anything lots of snow here in the winter time need something that works well in snow thanks for your thoughts

I have REVOs ATs and like them. A big improvement over Goodyears. I have a 4X4, if you have a 2X4 you might consider a more aggressive tire for deep snow.

Get some summer tires and some nice snow tires. Don't bother trying to end up with one tire for all, IMO you're best off with dedicated tires for each season.

I have Bridgestone REVOs also, great in the rain and snow but I'm not real happy with the treadlife. Ready for my second set, only get about 25,000 miles. Other tires good in snow are Pro Comp A/T's and BFG AT's. Most people report the BFG's wear like iron. For snow you're better off with a tire that has a large number of small edges.

I got Firestone destination A/T ' s but I haven't had'em in the snow yet. They look like they'll do good, the only thing I've noticed is that I've lost about 1-.5 a mpg with these. They also tend to pick-up alot of small rocks.

I got over 70k on both sets of my Revos.

The tires I've got now are DEFINATELY not snow-friendly.

I am partial to BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A. I have 36,000 miles on them and they still have plenty of tread.

I liked them so much, I had them installed on my wifes Explorer.

My buddy got some michelins (don't remember the exact name) on his Exploer and he said they work great in the snow. They have the little squiggly lines in them like most snow tires do.

I'll second the BF Goodrich Radial Long Trail T/A's. I just had a set put on about a month ago and they came out wayyyy less than I was willing to pay for a good set of tires. Very smooth and comfortable ride, $126 per, installed, balanced, road hazzard, lifetime balancing, and just about every other tire protection gimmick you can think of.

I dropped almost 700 on a nice set of tires which ended up getting shot to hell after 3 years thanks to bad roads, hardware falling off of other cars, road debris, elements, bad shocks, shot tie rods, lengthy parking, etc... Never thought a bad tire could feel so... well bad.

Didn't feel like dropping more money than needed on a tire that might be a bit better, just to have it take abuse for another 36K miles.

Ditto the BF Goodrich Long Trail T/As. I've had several sets and have loved every minute of them.

Another great tire is the Michelin Cross-Terrain. It looks a little wimpy, but it wears like iron and performs superbly.
