I am a Steelers fan but the Packers did deserve to win that game, they played great. The Steelers on the other hand didn't, plain and simple. I think the Steelers seriously need to practice on astroturf way more especially if there gonna be playing on it in a game like the SuperBlowl, as clear as day they couldn't get their footing everytime they tried to cut back on a move they slid and feel. Real football is played on grass and outside (that's Steeler Football) not this inside protected from the weather on sunporch grass B.S.. I can maybe think of one game if that they actually played this year on astroturf. Oh well, it wasn't only the field, the Steelers didn't look like they were even playing, yeah they made some good plays but it wasn't 100% Steeler football. Congrats to the Packers, y'all deserved it.

I agree completely--but you would think that would have affected the raised-on-Lambeau-Field Packers just as much...

They were sliding around too but not as much. Like I said, the Steelers just weren't totally there, not sure what happened but oh well they still have 6 SuperBowl rings and didn't have to cheat to get them like the Patriots. That reminds me, how the hell did Bellicheat and Ken Doll, I mean Brady get awarded and honored for their wins when everyone knows they cheated WTF was that. Just shows you what football is coming to nowadays, just like NASCAR, it used to be awesome to watch but with all the rules, fines, commercialism, etc. it's turning into something else. I hope they do have a lockout next year and get rid of Goodell and make football a full contact sport again.

The Packers did deserve to win that game, they played awesome all season and in the SuperBowl and that's what makes a winning team, congrats.

I'm happy for the Packers and Rodgers. He has a bright future ahead with Green Bay.

The Steelers just didn't play well enough to win. Take the turnovers off the board and its a completely different game. The Packers were very opportunistic and didn't miss a chance to take advantage of the turnovers. Next year...

I have a buddy who's a Bears fan. He called in sick to work today. Last night, everytime the Packers did something good, he'd curse Cutler under his breath. He is really pissed off today.

Agreed. I think the Super Bowl should be a home-field advantage game. Whichever conference champ has the best record is where it should be played. Would also test the skill and motivation of the players (especially those from warm climates or who play in domes) if they had to play in Feb at say Lambeau or Soldier Field. Not to mention how great it would be just to have a Super Bowl in a stadium with as much tradition and history as Soldier Field or Lambeau Field.

Jerry,

I don't think AstroTurf had anything to do with the Steelers loosing. It was the 3 turnovers that led to 3 touchdowns by Green Bay. Other wise the game would have been a lot closer and Green Bay may have been trying to play catch-up not the Steelers. Over all, I think it was a fairly good game once the Steelers woke up.

Very typical that one team shows up at the Super Bowl not prepared to play at 100%

Congratulations to the Packers, they played well, capitalized on every Steeler mistake, and deserved to win.

The Packers needed to capitalize on the Steelers' mistakes, seeing that they also made so many themselves. So many dropped passes, blown coverages, losing their cool when provoked, etc. As I diehard Packers fan, I was disappointed with how they played, and was very thankful to still somehow escape with a win.

Bill V,

After two weeks of hoopla leading up to the game, most teams come to the Super Bowl looking more like clutzes than champions. The games are often filled with dropped passes, fumbles and stupid pentalties.

This game was no exception. The Packers dropped some passes that should have been caught, and the Steelers threw interceptions and had too many stupid pentalties. I think the Steeler's defense had more blown coverages than the Packers, and the Packers capitalized on most of them. It appeared that the Packers saw some weaknesses in the Steelers secondary and took advantage of that because they certainly could not run the ball very effectively against Steelers. On the other hand, the Steelers were able to run very well against the Packers, and when they threw passes they got picked off....Not Ben's best day.

It certainly was not the best Super Bowl game ever, and definitely not the worst. I think it was just slightly better than average only because the Steelers finally woke up and looked like they were going to turn it around but every time they got close the Packers would score another touchdown.

Bud--

The common T-shirt that has been going around Wisconsin the past couple years says, "We'll never forget you, BRENT." :bwahaha:

You turn the ball over three times, you probably aren't going to win the game. Doesn't matter if it's high school or the Super Bowl. The Steelers were outplayed, plain and simple.

Regardless, they got a lot farther than I thought they would with Ben's suspension, trading Stone-io, and several high-profile injuries.

I will fly my Steelers flag from the Trac's rear window in memorium for the rest of the week.

Upside, even though my Steelers lost, that means minimal downtime between football and NASCAR.
