Finished the CV axle and wheel bearing (4 X 4) yesterday. About 4 hours. First ime on these items. Big thanks to the response for help I posted earlier.

A word to the wise if the CV axle needs to be replaced, it is good time to do the shocks and the brake rotor and pads. Also if there is a ton of miles on the sealed wheel bearing do it at the same time. Most of these parts have to be removed to access the CV axle so why not replace them with new stuff.

Got 181,000 on the ST. Last month drove from central Iowa to Spokane Wa pulling a trailer and 2,200 pounds of stuff. Dropped the trailer. Then left Spokane, drove to Colorado Springs. Drove to the top of Pikes Peak. Finished the trip to Iowa. About 3,300 TROUBLE free miles. The mountains in Idaho slowed us down to 45 MPH up and down.

Again thanks to the responses for the help.
