We'll keep this in mind the next time we adopt our next dog.

Our dog Dixie was adopted when she was 4 years old.

She was housebroken, but didn't know how to use the doggie door we

installed for her, well one push through the door and she hasn't

looked back. She's getting older now that was about 7 years ago.

She still runs and plays like a puppy, but age is catching up with her.

Adoption of dogs and cats is the only way to go.







BTW living near Atlanta and the Falcons...

Michael Vick is a grade A thug and a dirtbag.

Hopefully he'll be working for Al Davis real soon

if anyone in the NFL, they deserve each other.

...for some people.



Myself, I prefer to get a puppy in the breed that I prefer. I do not want a dog that has been abused, mistreated, or anything else. I like having a puppy and training it the way I want it to act.



I buy my dogs from reputable breeders that care for the dogs. I do not buy from puppy mills.



For some people adoption is the only way. I am not one of those people.

There are way too many dogs and cats that are euthanized in this country.

Unlike countries like China, and Korea they are not a food source.

unless you go to the Happy Panda.:lol:

We simply discard our pets. This is a tragedy.

You can adopt puppies at the shelters too.

They go quicker and the choices a fewer.



Alot of pure bred dogs and cats have genetic defects due to

overbreeding.

Not saying you are right or wrong by buying from a reputable

breeder, just saying that adoption eleviates some of our pet problems.

I also agree with what Bob Barker has been doing for the past 50 years.



BTW Went to Myrtle Beach earlier this year,

it was nice, stayed at the Sea Watch resort

from the recommendation of a site member,

they had good prices for a kinda small condo.

They are running some specials for off season.

Have fun, there are members that recommeded alot

of nice places there, Have Fun, don't chum the water too

much!

Irresponsible pet owners are to blame, not breeders. When I get a pet, I take care of them. I do not get them Spayed or neutered. God gave them those organs and they will die with those organs. I do not leave them out unattended when my female dog is in heat. I treat animals with respect (except when they are wild and have lost thier fear of humans and try to attack)



Either way, the fault lies with bad pet owners. If the law would hold them more responsible and not classify a pet as "property", things will not change.

Thankfully we live in a country and during a time in which both your dogs and your kids can be taken from you and you jailed if you abuse them.

Some think it is more respectful to spay and neuter. Think about it. How would you like it to have fully-operation "parts" during your breeding years and be penned up, tied up, or otherwise not allowed to "do it" at will?

To answer your question, as a matter of fact I have had a part removed from and now I can't get any "bitches" pregnant.



The only downside was the recovery. I had to wear that big white funnel to keep from gnawing out my stitches.
