We took a trip to Cape Canaveral today to watch the space shuttle launch. What a sight! We are fortunate to live about 120 miles south of the Cape so we can make a day trip of it. We watched from the visitors center and then had lunch with an astronaut (us and about 150 other people). If you get the chance to watch a launch close up you should do it.

How is that for a big screen TV? That is a tractor trailer it is attached to!

I have seen 6 lift offs. I was there on official duty doing waterborne security.

Now that is the way to watch it, you can feel it rumble through you...

Unfortunately, I was present for the liftoff disaster as well. That was a very sad day. Being there brings int to the forefront.

There was much debris in the water. We were picking up this green stuff when they told us DO NOT TOUCH THAT...

To this day, I don't know what it was. I still have all of my limbs and what not so I suppose I will survive...
