Stereo Malfunction

If i do not drive my car for a few days (or if im near a place with a lot of moisture), my stereo has a hard time coming on. It flickers.....turns on....turns off......turns on...turns off......etc. Then sometimes it can be on but no sounds will come out. Then i am stuck driving in silence.(its kinda nice sometimes though) Also sometimes if it does turn on, i will go to turn it up and it will flicker and go back to low volume. It usually will cut off if i go over 4 notches. Any ideas? Wire Harness?

You need to post which system you have. There are 3 for the gen 1.

Also update your profile. It will help to know if you have a gen 1 or gen 2 V6/V8. When you ask for help.
