Speaker Recommendations

I have a 2001 Sporttrac. It had the factory AM/FM/CD/Cassette unit which I replaced. The speakers are sounding ragged. I want to replace my speakers and wanted something with good sound that can be pushed a little without falling apart. I have an aftermarket Blaupunkt radio and nothing to boost the sound louder.



Any recommendations on a reasonable set of speakers front and back?

I have 4 Hifonics 3 ways and love them. They handle some pretty loud bass without distortion and have been playing mine loudly for 3 years and they all work great still

I put Polk DX-7's in my gen 1 Trac back in 2001. In 2006 I moved them to my '07 and they are still working great. Both times they were driven off an amplifier, but they also work well off the stock system.



I think they have been replaced by a newer model, but you can still find the DX-7's in some places.

Yes! Those are the ones I was thinking about as the replacement. They cost about as much as my DX-7's did back in 2001 when I bought them.
