The ST, after having been cleaned off a couple times, during the height of "Snowmageddon":

The Lightning became one with the snow:

The next day, after the driveway was plowed with both a Dodge Ram 4x4 and a Bobcat-type mini front-end loader. Both got stuck multiple times, but when I moved the ST, it just went right through with no drama!

I live just SE of Jerry. Here, they cleared the streets with high lifts and dump trucks yesterday. The required all vehicles be removed from the street, so I decided to put mine in our ally -- which had not be cleared yet. We have 3 vehicles, an '08 Trailblazer (for my wife), a '99 blazer (for my son), and the '01 ST (mine, all mine! :bwahaha:)

All vehicles are 4x4.

Anyway, the TB and the Blazer both had problems getting into the ally, I think mostly due to clearance. The ST had no problems getting in or out of the ally!!! :driving:

Conclusion, the ST is a 4x4 beast while the others are just blah.

Hi Jim, I'm in Forked River, NJ and we got about the same as you. Several rounds of shoveling until it stopped. Yes, my truck went through the snow incredibly well. I guess the Blizzaks and 4 wheel drive are a pretty unbeatable combination. The township had a large front end loader stationed in my neighborhood all night, he even cleared the ends of our driveways. I love snow, but hate the salt that messes with the truck. BC :driving:

What do you mean Cabrera, that's the only reason you can think of why you're glad you left Jersey? Just messing with ya'll that still live there.

:grin::haveabeer::bwahaha:

Jerry...I'm originally from NYC. I can't say YAWL?

What? Didn't Virginia get as much snow as NJ?

Some of "Tips For Northerners Moving South":

3. Just because you can drive on snow and ice does not mean we can. Stay home the two days of the year it snows.

4. If you do run your car into a ditch, don't panic. Four men in the cab of a four wheel drive with a 12-pack of beer and a towchain will be along shortly. Don't try to help them. Just stay out of their way. This is what they live for.

#4 is so true...I got to see them get stuck doubly; The dudes with the Ford/Dodge older than them would try and pull the Accord/Civic cobbled together with miscolored parts from various pick-'n-pulls out of the 3-5' (plow buildup) in the median, get stuck, and then have to call their wannabe redneck homies to pull them out.

Saw lifted trucks (sadly including Fords) with snowblowers in the bed slip and slide, while the ST and the "cute" RAV4 just cruised over the same patches of road and laughed.

Much to the chagrin of many of the losers around here, the locally infamous Confederate Ford did not get stuck when pulling people out, which gives it bonus points in my book. (Didn't get stuck, is a Ford, and frustrates the ignorant all at the same time)

The two most important things in snow:

1. Tires. My wife's Taurus with Blizzaks goes as good as my truck. Scary good. On 4x4's for snow, A/T's are better than M/T's.

2. Limited-slip.

I pulled out a newer 3/4 Chevy 4x4 from the snow in front of my neighbor's house. On the street.

I can add to this conversation. I pulled out several chevys here in Amarillo, Tx. Wish I had taken pictures of the downcast faces of those cowboys in their huge 3/4 ton 4WD chevys while my little ST jerked 'em out of their predicaments...

Of course, I pulled out other makes of vehicles as well. All with no beer and no help from my redneck buddies.

I am more impressed with my ST every day. Love the LSD!!!
