Looking to buy a larger snow blower to do mine, my mother-in-law and my daughter,s driveways. I have a smaller Snapper that is just barely adequate. I had a buddy who had a large walk behind Troy Built mower that he said was crap and he gave it away and when I was a kid we had a Toro mower that was great but we replaced it with a new one that was nothing but trouble so I have bad opinions of those. Under $1000.00 would be nice. Any experience or opinions?

Steve B, true dat on the plastic chute for the Craftsman; but other than that and the color, mine (or should I say "the ex's") looks JUST like the pic above.

Personally, the plastic chute is a bit better IMHO for certain snows. Powder is no issue, but if you have wet, icy snow, the thin metal of the end of the chute can can re-freeze and clog-up problems.
