Scangauge installation

I have bought a scangaugeII. The OBDII connection outlet is right above the release leaver of the handbrake. If the cable is connected, it is not possbile anymore to release the handbrake. Anyone installed the connector on another way ? Thanks for advise. My ST is a '08 model.

Probably easier to just move the OBDII port...even if you have to hanging under the dash with a wire-tie.
