I did two this weekend. One of my Sport Trac and one on Theresa's Explorer.

Total time? 1/2 hour.

First time I did my fuel filter , not so good had special tool and everything. sprayed some wd40 in there and the next day it almost fell off in my hand, no problem at all.

i bet you had a few choice words that day:unsure:

Ford fuel filters are a total piece of cake. I have both the plastic tool and the metal one. The plastic one works easiest for me. I've been changing them once a year for almost 10 years.

This is one of Ford's better ideas. No clamps to work with, no threads to strip, no sealer, no gaskets, just unsnap the old one and snap in a new one!

Gavin,

For the most part you are correct. However, sometimes the little fingers in the retention system do not work as they are suppose to.

I have seen people work HOURS in trying to remove the filter. To the point of cutting a line.

I have both the full set of the plastic and the metal tools. Plastic seem to work best for the fuel filters and metal seem to work best for A/C lines..
