I was just thinking today and was wondering if there is anyway you could make your back window be controlled like you would your driverside or pass. window. Rather, then just open, close, vent. Just thought I would throw that out there.

The issue is the back window has sensors mounted on the sides that makes it travel the way it does.

The only real way to get it to stop in various locations is to interrupt the power supply going to the module or the window motor.

Caution: That glass is a VERY heavy piece of glass, making it go up at one touch could possibly be hazardous. (Hence the 2" detent... ;) )

kyle,

The rear window positions are controlled by a logic board built into the motor casing. The window can temporarily be reprogrammed with a specific combination of control button taps. But that programming is only very temporary. Ford set the current positions for safety reasons. We've come to the conclusion here that we still love the rear window, so we'll live with it.

R, can you explain what make the rear window pane so heavy to make this an issue? What's special about it?
