Rear Driver Door Swap Out

Pulled a really dumb move the other day and put a really nice scratch in my driver side rear door (2001 Silver Birch ) . No big deal, I'll get the paint touched up. Was shocked to find out that the cost to repaint the door was any where from $750 to over $1300 here in NE Louisiana . I think I could live with the scratch. I then got thinking about finding a door at a junk yard (obviously in good shape). Are the early ST doors interchangeable or only for that model yearl? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure the doors are the same for '02-'05, it's the inside door trim that may change alittle. The reason it costs so much to paint is because of the metal flake paint that we Silver Birch owners love. They will have to do the whole door to get it to flow right. My wife and I also have a Silver Birch Mountaineer (along with my ST) and we bought it new. When I got it home and washed it, I noticed an area of paint that didn't "gel" right. The body shop at the dealer said they would do the best they could to "touch-up" the area, but since it was a metal flake paint, it may stand out. They did an excelent job and if you didn't know where the problem area was, you'd never find it. Since I knew where it was, I can see the difference. The flake doesn't flow with the rest of the surrounding area.
